The National Weather Service in Charleston, WV has issued a Freeze Warning in effect from WED 2:00 AM EDT to WED 10:00 AM EDT

Tonight temperatures will be considerably cooler with lows reaching into the upper 20s. Because of this, a freeze warning has been put into effect for the Athens area until 10:00 AM on Wednesday. Frost and freeze conditions are expected which will affect crops, vegetation, and outdoor piping. After 10:00 AM Wednesday temperatures will rise into the upper 40s with dry and cool conditions expected due to the high pressure that is sitting above most of the midwest. Because of the stable atmospheric conditions, nights will continue to be cooler than what the area has been used to for the past couple of weeks. Clouds will roll back into the area on Thursday but little to no precipitation is expected to drift along with it.
