Forecast Discussion
The National Weather Service of Charleston, WV, has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Athens County until 11 am Wednesday.
Heading into today, a low-pressure system is really starting to dominate just south of our area. Due to this, 2-4″ inches of snow is to be expected throughout the day and night. Use extra caution while traveling due to the wintry conditions. The system will continue to travel eastward as another system will replace it almost immediately tomorrow afternoon. We can expect mostly rain from this system as the temperature will warm up. Then, by Thursday afternoon, we will see a relief from the rain as a high-pressure will move into our area. Highs will be in the mid to low 40’s. Heading into the early weekend, it will be a mostly sunny day on Friday with highs in the high-30’s to low 40’s. But another rain system is expected to move right back into our area for Saturday, with highs in the near 50’s.
