Our area has been dominated by high pressure for the past few days and will continue to be through today and tomorrow. As the high pressure begins to move out today and into tomorrow ahead of a disturbance, we will see winds shift from the SW and clouds build in, allowing for a decent warm up today that will maintain through Thursday. These winds could be gusty as times, potentially gusting up to about 20 mph, which will create wind chills in the teens this morning prior to the warm up. The first of two disturbances will make its way into our area by Thursday afternoon. Rain chances begin Thursday afternoon as the low pressure crosses, but we likely won’t see any rain until the cold front passes around dinner time. The cold front will also drop lows into the teens and highs not much above freezing for the weekend. Weak high pressure regains control for Friday ahead of the stronger disturbance that will impact the eastern US by Sunday afternoon. There’s still a lot of uncertainty with this system, so exact impacts and accumulations are hard to gauge right now, but we’ll likely see some snow Sunday night into Monday.
