Forecast Discussion
A deep trough aloft will continue making its way eastward today and tomorrow alongside a surface mid-latitude cyclone. This is likely going to move just southeast of Athens and is expected to bring a fairly significant amount of rain Wednesday evening into Thursday morning. This has led the Weather Prediction Center to issue a marginal risk of excessive rainfall Wednesday into Thursday. Most of the expected rain will likely hit during the overnight hours of Wednesday into Thursday, though any further rain from this system will be on and off throughout Thursday. However, we may see gustier winds on Thursday, possibly reaching near 25 mph in some spots. Skies are expected to clear exponentially Thursday night, and much drier conditions could follow into Friday. Chilly temperatures will continue through Halloween and the start of November.
