Forecast Discussion
The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook and a Frost Advisory for the Athens area. The frost advisory is for the overnight hours from 2am to 10am Saturday. It is essential to cover any tender vegetation as we head into the evening. The Hazardous Weather Outlook is issued for upcoming possible frost events as we progress through the upcoming week on Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Low pressure and a cold front moved through much of the region yesterday which advanced colder air into the area. We can expect a mild warm up starting tomorrow and Sunday with daytime temperatures becoming more seasonal. High pressure will progress clearing skies to end the weekend. However, rain and thunderstorm possibilities return on Monday into Monday night and cooler temperatures can be expected on Tuesday.
