Forecast Discussion
The Cold Weather Advisory issued by the National Weather Service in Charleston, WV remains in effect until tomorrow morning for very cold wind chills.
Tomorrow morning will be very cold so make sure to bundle up, cover exposed skin, and limit your time outdoors if heading out. Hypothermia and frostbite are a concern if proper precautions are not taken to protect yourself from the cold! It will begin to warm up Thursday as some more moist air from the south brings clouds and humidity rises. This is likely to result in some localized brief snow bands overnight that may bring some light snow around 0.5″ to Athens or the surrounding area. This weekend we will finally see some above freezing highs and large amounts of snowmelt could cause wet roads and high water in various areas. More snow may be possible on Tuesday or Wednesday.
