Forecast Discussion
This rain won’t be letting up just yet! As an occluded low pressure system in northern Ohio moves eastward and out of our region, another low pressure system pushes in from the west. At the moment, Athens, OH is under the thunderstorm outlook on Friday as a majority of the severe weather will occur in the southeast and the mid-Atlantic. Chances will be high for rain and thunderstorms may occur in the afternoon. Over the next 72 hours, winds will be quite variable and calm as the current low-pressure system to our north exits our region. After this rain is said and done, high pressure will drop down from the north and gift us some sunny skies and daytime temperatures into the upper 70s!
