There is a severe weather threat shaping up for the afternoon and evening tomorrow. According to the SPC Day 2 Severe Weather Outlook, Central and Eastern Ohio is in an Enhanced Risk (3/5) of severe weather, with Athens sitting on the boundary of an Enhanced (3/5) and a Slight Risk (2/5). North of Athens is Enhanced while south of Athens and Athens itself is Slight. Associated with the severe weather threat is a 2% Tornado Risk north of Athens in Central and Eastern Ohio (1/7, so very low threat), a 30% Wind Risk north of Athens in Central and Eastern Ohio (3/5), a 15% Wind Risk in and south of Athens (2/5), a 15% Hail Risk along the I-71 corridor in Ohio (2/5), and a 5% Hail Risk in Southern and SE Ohio (1/5). So basically, the main threat will be damaging winds, but hail and an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. Be sure to have ways to get notifications from the National Weather Service and have an action plan in place in case there is an unexpected tornado.

Beyond tomorrow, showers and thunderstorms will be about 50/50 on Thursday and Friday. Cloud cover will increase tomorrow and be prominent for much of the week. For the high temperatures, it will be in the mid 80s tomorrow, high 70s on Wednesday, low 80s on Thursday, mid 70s on Friday, and mid 60s on Saturday. For the low temperatures, it will be in the high 50s tonight, tomorrow night, and Wednesday night, low 60s on Thursday, low 50s on Friday night, and low 40s on Saturday night.
