High pressure overhead will continue to keep dry, cooler weather in the area for the majority of the week. Temperatures today will be in the lower 70s and it will drop into the 40’s tonight. Temperatures will gradually increase as this week continues. From today to Saturday expect mostly sunny skies as high pressure remains over Athens. After a mainly dry, sunny Saturday, an upper level trough will move in on Sunday, forming a low west of Athens, increasing the chance for showers. Rain will continue into evening hours of Sunday because of a cold front moving in due to the upper level trough. There is a chance that this front will obtain the remaining moisture from Tropical Storm Beta, bringing more rain into Monday.
