An upper level ridge and the associated high pressure remains stationed over our area throughout today. This will maintain the dry conditions we’ve seen for the most part, although a warm front associated with a low pressure system developing over the plains could bring a chance for an isolated shower throughout the day. This system development will also pull warm air from the south into the region, making for another day with above average temperatures, as well as increase cloud coverage in the region, which will not allow for overnight cooling and keep temperatures rather pleasant overnight into Thursday. The aforementioned system will make its way into the area Thursday afternoon into the evening. The cold front associated with the system will bring rain shower to the area shortly before dinner time on Thursday and will likely stall over the area, which will maintain rain chances until late Saturday afternoon. Rainfall amounts look to be between 1 to 2 inches over the course of the two days, which should not lead to any flooding concerns. The NWS office in Charleston, WV has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for this system, citing the heavy rainfall, as well the strong winds that will be associated with the passage. Temperatures remain rather warm until the cold front finally passes on Saturday and high pressure builds back into the area. We will see temperatures back down near normal by Sunday, but it will also be a dry and calm start to the week.
