Ahead of an approaching warm front, widespread showers have broken out this morning across the region. Showers will continue on and off throughout the day as the warm front makes its approach this evening. Showers will taper off later tonight before redeveloping in the early morning hours tomorrow, ahead of the approach of the next cold front. The front will come through Sunday afternoon into evening, with the chance for scattered showers or thunderstorms continuing into the day Sunday as a result. Temperatures will warm modestly, providing a conditional environment for an isolated strong storm to develop. Once the cold front goes through, temperatures will again cool off, with average to slightly below average temperatures expected for much of next week.
