Precipitation chances will return Thursday night into Friday due to a series of shortwave disturbances moving through the ridging pattern, bringing chances for showers and thunderstorms to end the work week and into the weekend. A surface low pressure associated with these patterns aloft will lift a warm front north on Sunday, and eventually a cold front Sunday night into Monday.
