Forecast Discussion
Chances for showers and thunderstorms should be tapering off tonight as a cold front moves through the area overnight. Temperatures will drop a few degrees, but should stay in the mid-80s for the high on Friday. There will be a brief break in the rain on Friday with partly cloudy skies and northwest flow. However, an upper-level trough is forecasted to progress eastward into the Ohio Valley over the weekend bringing more chances for showers and thunderstorms with an associated low-pressure system. Dewpoints are expected to be in the mid to upper-60s with instability of up to 2000 J/kg Saturday evening into Sunday morning. This is enough moisture and instability to support thunderstorms, but none will be severe. Due to the rain, temperatures will only reach the upper-70s on Sunday, but return to normal for this time of year into the early work week.
Clouds will begin decreasing Sunday evening as the low-pressure system moves out and high-pressure settles into the area on Monday and Tuesday. Temperatures can reach the mid-80s on Monday with Tuesday nearing 90 degrees under mostly sunny skies.
