Forecast Discussion
The threat for severe weather will diminish this evening as the cold front passes. There is a slim chance for a stray shower or storm overnight, but none will be severe. Winds will turn westerly with lows in the low-60s. Tuesday and Wednesday, a high-pressure system will settle in briefly bringing a short break from the rain before those rain chances increase Wednesday night. A shortwave trough will move through Wednesday night into Thursday providing a lifting mechanism for showers and storms. On Friday, there will be a brief dry period with highs in the upper-80s under partly cloudy skies. However, on Saturday, southeast Ohio will be located upstream from a trough which will provide upper-level divergence and lifting as the rain returns heading into the weekend.
