Forecast Discussion

High-pressure will remain today giving way to pleasant conditions with highs in the upper-80s. However, an upper-level shortwave trough will move through Friday morning along with a cold front, bringing a chance of rain, but it will likely dissipate once it arrives in southeast Ohio. Once the cold front moves through, high pressure will fill in behind with the building of an upper-level ridge. Due to the construction of the ridge, southeast Ohio will experience its first summer heat wave with temperatures building into the upper-90s to near 100 at the beginning of the work week and is expected to continue all week. It is important to drink plenty of fluids if you are doing any strenuous activities outside and stay cool.
