Tonight, some clouds may move in as a weak cold front pushes through the area late. These clouds will still hang around tomorrow, and for the most part, pressure will still remain somewhat low. Perhaps an isolated shower is possible, but for the most part, it should be relatively calm with a high around 85, albeit a bit more humid, which will push those heat index values a bit higher. These clouds will move out overnight, and Saturday looks to be more of the same with the high around 84, though mostly sunny, as high pressure cranks up in our area.

This high pressure isn’t all good news, however. A significant ridging event is imminent as the weekend continues, which will usher in a persistent and possibly threatening heat wave into the new week. Temperatures in the low 90s on Sunday will push into the high 90s by Monday, and continue on for several days. Humidity will push those heat index values past 100 degrees. During this time, this will dramatically affect those without cooling and hydration, and heat-related ailment is quite likely should precautions not be taken / be unable to be taken. This is shaping up to be a long-duration extreme heat event with little overnight relief, so please take extra care throughout next week.
