Forecast Discussion

There is a slight risk (level 2 of 5) for southeast Ohio today due to an upper-level trough and a cold front pushing through in the afternoon. This will bring a chance for showers and thunderstorms with an isolated severe storm. The main threats are damaging winds and hail. Otherwise, clouds will increase if storms do not arise. Once the cold front moves through, highs will remain in the mid-80s and begin climbing Sunday into the mid-90s amidst the building of an upper-level ridge and high pressure at the surface. This will allow temperatures to rise to the mid to upper-90s at the beginning of the week and looks to remain in the long-term. Make sure to stay hydrated and cool as warm, muggy nights won’t bring much-needed relief to those without air conditioning.
