Forecast Discussion

A surface high pressure system and a particularly strong upper-level ridging pattern will be the cause for an unpleasant heat wave over the coming week. Expect heat indices to exceed 100 degrees almost daily, as well as a chance at some evening thunderstorms and temperatures rapidly cool due to the lack of cloud cover. Ambient temperatures aren’t expected to exceed 100 degrees, except for Thursday which will likely be the worst day of warm weather this week. Be sure to exercise caution if you’re planning on spending a prolonged period of time outdoors, and read the National Weather Service’s Heat Advisory, which is valid until Friday evening where we will finally be relieved of the heat wave.
