Our heat continues on through the week. Tonight, a few clouds will be present, though pressure still remains quite high, promoting calm conditions to persist. Tomorrow, some haze in the morning hours is possible, and humidity will continue to make Friday awfully unpleasant. Combined with a high near 97, our Heat Advisory continues, with heat index values possibly exceeding 100 degrees. Little overnight relief is likely Friday evening as well, as temperatures still linger around 70 degrees. Saturday will see partly cloudy skies, but with a similar high in the upper 90s, the risk of heat-related injury still remains very prevalent. During this time, continue to exercise proper heat safety: wear light clothes, stay hydrated, and seek air conditioning or other methods of relief.

More clouds and a chance of thunderstorms are possible as a quick trough pushes through the area, a few of which could be strong. However, the details of this are still quite obscure for the time being. A brief relief from the heat is possible as the cold front ushers in temperatures back down to 90 degrees, but this will be short lived as temperatures push back to the mid 90s by Tuesday amidst sunny skies.
