An upper-level ridge with an associated surface high-pressure system will continue to bring hot and humid conditions for the next few days. Due to the humidity, a slight chance of a pop-up shower or storm is possible. A heat advisory from the NWS is issued until 8:00 pm on Saturday with highs in the mid to upper-90s and a heat index up to 101. Make sure to drink plenty of water and limit strenuous activity outdoors. However, relief comes from the heat as an upper-level shortwave trough will develop with an associated low-pressure system on Sunday. A cold front with the system will move through Sunday evening bringing a chance for showers and thunderstorms. Storms will not be severe. Once the cold front moves through, high temperatures will drop to the upper-80s to near 90 bringing some relief. High pressure will settle back in for the beginning of the work week bringing pleasant summer conditions.
