A few clouds will move in and out of the area tonight, with pressure remaining relatively normal. However, by Wednesday, pressure will begin dropping as a cold front approaches from the west. The location of southeastern Ohio during Wednesday will be within the “warm sector” of a midlatitude cyclone, where warm, moist air is funneled in from the south. For this reason, tomorrow will be quite hot, at a high near 94 degrees, and dew points pushing up through the 60s. With the heat index possibly exceeding 100 degrees, please take extra caution during this time. The cold front will possibly weaken before it reaches southeastern Ohio, though a few showers may still be seen during the evening. Later in the night, a few more scattered storms, possibly strong, could occur in the morning of Thursday due to destabilization.

Likely the most pressing matter of the forecast remains with regards to Independence Day. Regrettably, the presence of the upper-level trough will still promote convection throughout the day. A Marginal Risk of severe weather has been issued by the Storm Prediction Center as well. Current guidance suggests showers and thunderstorms to pass through the area in the early-to-mid afternoon hours. This could potentially serve to diminish the severe risk later in the day, as another round of scattered storms appears to develop in the evening hours. While this forecast does not seem particularly hopeful regarding Independence Day celebrations, they are also subject to chance as we approach the day.

While Friday remains still stormy, a calmer pattern will eventually take hold, making for this weekend to be more calm and sunny, albeit still hot in the upper 80s.
