Due to clear, calm conditions early this morning and the ground reaching saturation, patchy fog is possible during the morning commute today. Otherwise, clouds will increase due to a low-pressure system that will move east over the Great Lakes this morning into the early afternoon. A warm front associated with the low will lift through the Ohio Valley allowing for partly cloudy skies in the afternoon. Highs will climb to near 90 degrees, which is above normal for this time of year bringing summer-like conditions heading into the weekend. On Saturday morning, a weak cold front will move through increasing clouds again with a slight chance of a shower or isolated storm as the front passes. Behind the front, high-pressure will build rapidly allowing for skies to clear in the afternoon and evening and summer-like temperatures persisting.

However, that short-period of sunshine won’t last as another cold front will make its way east toward our area bringing much needed rain mitigating some exceptional drought conditions. Rain chances will linger for the start of the work-week with temperatures cooling into the low-80s from an upper-level trough bringing high temperatures closer to normal.
