Post-Tropical Cyclone Helene has forced its way up through the southern United States, and the core of the low pressure will become stalled in the western Kentucky region, which will continue to promote the development of scattered rain showers throughout the remainder of the weekend. Overnight tonight, clouds will decrease in cover until the morning hours, in which cloudy skies resume and a chance of showers develops in the later morning. For those walking in Ohio University’s Homecoming parade, be on the lookout for some light rain potentially during the march. Into the afternoon, the chances for rain decrease until the later evening hours despite cloudy skies. For the time being, Ohio University’s Football game will be cloudy, though without rain. Into the evening, however, lighter rain may return throughout the night. Sunday will see more of the same conditions as well, with scattered showers still developing sporadically throughout the day. Temperatures throughout this time will be relatively similar in the high 70s.

Monday will still see the stalled Low still stuck in the Midwest, and as such, more scattered showers will linger. However, come Tuesday, upper-level troughing will force the low to move eastward, delivering one last chance for rain showers in the early morning of Tuesday, and then gradually clearing as higher pressure moves into the area. By Wednesday, clear skies and calmer, drier weather will dominate, and cooler temperatures in the low 70s are to be expected. Go Bobcats!
