Technical Forecast Discussion
Short-term Forecast (Thursday 11/07/2024 through Saturday 11/09/2024):
A cold front has been making its progression through the region bringing the rain showers experienced yesterday. Some of these rain showers will linger into the early morning Thursday as the front continues its progression. Following this frontal passage, high pressure will begin to rebuild into the region bringing clearer skies and drier conditions. These conditions will mostly persist through Saturday during the day until a warm front begins to creep closer. Clouds will slowly build throughout the day and the chance for some rain showers will arise in the evening into the overnight hours.
Long-term Forecast (Sunday 11/10/2024 through Wednesday 11/13/2024):
A midlatitude cyclone will progress in from the west north of our region. A warm front stemming from the low pressure system will begin to creep toward the region Saturday and make its passage Sunday resulting in the chance for rain showers throughout the day. A cold front will quickly follow this warm front providing the further continuation of showers into the holiday weekend. This rain is certainly much needed with our current drought conditions!
