Higher pressure is expected to persist in our area today after the passage of a cold front last night. This front has served to introduce some colder air into the area, making for a high in the mid 50s today alongside a light breeze. A few clouds may move in and out as well, and this will continue through tonight, in which relatively clear skies will make temperatures plummet to the high 20s. However, some warming may enter the area come Wednesday as some warmer air is pushed into the region from a quick upper-level ridge. Wednesday will further begin with little cloud cover, though as the day continues, a low pressure system entering from the west will begin to promote thicker cloud cover later in the day as the warm front approaches. Skies will be completely overcast by Wednesday evening, and rain will begin to develop early Thursday morning.

Rain is expected to persist throughout much of the day on Thursday, and accumulations could total to over half an inch. As the midlatitude cyclone continues eastward through our region, it is expected to enter a cut-off stage, thus keeping conditions relatively cloudy through early Friday as well. Higher pressure will quickly fill in behind this system, however, forcing the low out of the area and returning relatively clear weather by Saturday morning, in which temperatures will return to the low 60s.
