A low pressure system is expected to go through our area tonight. This will bring some light to moderate precipitation primarily in the form of rain, though there is a chance that it could be more of a rain/snow mix, so be wary of that. By tomorrow morning, the system should be out of our area, just in time for Christmas Eve. However, another system is expected to try to form behind this system and potentially move through our area on Christmas. But, since the system is trying to form, and likely with not much success, there won’t be much organization of the system at that point, so there is only a chance of precipitation instead of a certainty of precipitation. If there does end up being precipitation, then it will mainly be light rain showers. So yes, there won’t be a White Christmas. Since that system won’t end up forming into anything substantial, that system will dissipate by Thursday morning. But, there is yet another system that will organize and form behind it in Texas and Oklahoma. This system will move through our area by Friday evening and overnight heading into Saturday morning, with another low pressure system forming on the coattails of that system that will move through our area of Sunday. So to summarize, there will be several low pressure systems that will either form or try to form over the next week, each one forming right behind the other. As for the temperatures, both the high and low temperatures are expected to increase over the next several days, starting from tonight and tomorrow having a low and high of 37 and 44, respectively. The high and low temperatures will eventually peak on Saturday with a high in the low 60s and a low in the low 50s, which is very warm for this time of year.
