Due to our low humidity as well as high temperatures and higher winds the National Weather Service has issued a Fire Weather Watch for Athens County. This will be in effect Wednesday from 11 am till 10 pm.

Soak up the beautiful weather today as warm temperatures and partly cloudy skies create the perfect spring-like feel. Tonight, expect calm winds and continued partly cloudy conditions. However, don’t let the sunshine fool you because Thursday will bring a shift as cooler air moves in, clouds thicken, and rain showers become a possibility. By Thursday night, temperatures will drop into the 20s making for a chilly end to the day. Looking ahead, Friday will offer plenty of sunshine and dry conditions, allowing temperatures to rebound into the 50s. As we move into the weekend, expect increasing cloud cover on Saturday with a slight chance of rain showers, which could linger into Sunday.
