Forecast Discussion

Calm conditions this morning as we start off the day. Hot conditions will continue today and into the weekend as temperatures rise up into the 90s with high humanity. Because of this, the National Weather Service in Charlston, WV has issued a Heat advisory for our area from 11am this morning till 8pm tonight with heat index values up to 103 degrees. Along with the heat, we’ll also have a chance for some afternoon thunderstorms. A Marginal risk (level 1 out of 5) has been issued for our area for the chance of gusty winds with some of these storms. Scattered thunderstorms are likely to disperse by late evening, leaving partly cloudy skies. Going into Saturday, more rain showers are possible as a stationary front sits to our north. Temperatures once again in the 90s. As we go into the rest of the weekend and into the new week, high temperatures will stay in the 90s, with Tuesday potentially being the hottest day. Chances for isolated afternoon thunderstorms will be possible throughout the week.
