Forecast Discussion
Throughout the day today, a cold front at the surface will slowly make its way over Ohio. By the overnight, it’ll stall into a small stationary front, before the weak low associated with these fronts dissipates into high-pressure by Saturday. A very minor trough will move north of Ohio that is associated with the low-pressure in northern Canada, but it’s likely going to fizzle out as a stronger ridge fills in its place Thursday and Friday. Rain and thunderstorms are a possibility this afternoon and into the evening, but aren’t expected to be long-tracked or particularly severe. The primary threat currently may be strong wind gusts with the possibility of locally heavy downpours. Please stay aware of the potential for flash flooding in the event a warning is issued. Overnight and into the remainder of the forecast, we can expect dry and pleasant conditions to follow. High-pressure will dominate much of the eastern United States once more, allowing temperatures to soar into the lower-90s by this weekend.
