Forecast Discussion

The cold front has since passed through the eastern CONUS and brought much cooler and drier air behind it as a Canadian high-pressure system settles into the region. Lows overnight will be chilly in the 40s with highs in the mid-70s before a warming trend occurs by mid-week as a ridge of high-pressure aloft begins to build over the central United States. Highs can warm into the low to mid-80s with overnight lows in the low to mid-50s. Due to a dry end to the summer, abnormally dry conditions have developed and with the lack of rainfall possible for the rest of the month, drought conditions are possible for development.
