Forecast Discussion

For our first official day of fall we can expect cloudy conditions and a chance of showers and thunderstorms as we head into our evening and night hours. Our high temperature will round off around 81 degrees and we will begin a cooling trend, staying in the 70s for the remainder of the week. During these showers and thunderstorms, we can expect the possibility strong wind gusts prompting the Storm Prediction Center to put us under a Slight Risk (2/5) for severe weather. We are also under a Marginal Risk (1/4) for excessive rainfall. Please be weather aware this evening and throughout the remainder of the week as localized flash flooding is possible due to our drought conditions. This is because the ground is not prepared for any sort of heavy rainfall.
