Forecast Discussion
Clouds will begin to make their way into the area as we are finally finding a break from this prolonged high pressure. A cold front is pushing through the Midwest and will bring clouds this late afternoon. As the front progresses over the area in the early morning on Tuesday, we will see rain showers begin in the early morning and continue throughout the day. These rain showers will be beneficial in helping out the current D0 drought seen in the area, as we anticipate about 1.5 inches of rain on the high end. With this cold front and rain, we will also see a significant decrease in our temperatures for the rest of the week to be in the upper 60s and low 70s, with overnight conditions to be in the mid 40s. This cold front will really help it feel like fall outside as the leaves are starting to change and temperatures are dropping.
Wednesday, we will see skies beginning to clear as a high-pressure system begins to develop and an upper-level ridge pattern begins to shape up. This will clear skies, but we will continue to see the cooler temperatures throughout the day and especially overnight.
