Forecast Discussion

Over the next few days leading into Tuesday morning, we can expect mostly fair conditions, with today and tomorrow topping out near 60 degrees F. Currently, the region is being dominated by high pressure, leading to these light winds and dry conditions. Monday night into Tuesday morning, we can expect cloud cover to increase and a slight chance for scattered showers due to a shortwave disturbance approaching from the east (a small-scale trough with low pressure aloft), which appears to be relatively weak. Most of the day, Wednesday into Thursday morning, another shortwave trough is expected to approach in addition to a surface cold front. Therefore, with these main factors, rain will be constant for a period of time, possibly producing up to an inch of rain.
