A ridge in the upper level jet will remain prevalent over the area today. It will eventually move off to the east, allowing a deep surface low to move in tonight. This will bring with it showers and thunderstorms. While there is an enhanced risk of severe weather off to the west, there should be little or no severe weather threat in our area. We will drastically cool off Friday into Saturday as a cold front moves through tonight.
