Dominant southwesterly flow has been taking shape over the region in advecting more moisture and warmer temperatures through today. An upper-level trough extends over the region into the afternoon/evening hours alongside an approaching cold front from the WNW. Mostly sunny conditions will transpire through the majority of the day, but isolated showers and thunderstorms out ahead of the front may begin to pop-up mid-late afternoon. The high temperature will climb well into the upper 80s with potential of hitting 90 in addition to the relatively muggy dewpoint values. The chance for showers and thunderstorms will begin to increase in coverage as the evening and early overnight hours of Tuesday progresses and the first cold front begins to near. Cloud cover will fill in the area and offer more showers and even thunderstorms through Wednesday and Thursday as a stronger secondary cold front approaches the region late Thursday. High pressure then quickly fills in and opens up for clear and much drier conditions for the remainder of Friday and weekend.
