Forecast Discussion

For most of the week we have had a high pressure system sitting just south of our region in West Virginia. Looking at upper air observations, we can  see a ridging pattern associated with the high pressure system begin to be pushed out by a trough early Thursday morning into Thursday afternoon. This low pressure system, has a cold front that will bring the chance of rain for Thursday. After this cold front pushes east on Friday another High pressure system will set in for the weekend. Even though it is fall, expect very warm temperatures for Septemeber over the weekend. On Wednesday we will see highs reach around 80 degrees with winds coming out of the southeast. Overnight temperatures will be cooler with lows in the 50s. On Thursday we will see highs again in the upper 70s with winds out of the southwest. Expect rain showers on Thursday with the cold front moving into our region.
