Today will be a lot like a typical summer day, we’ll see temperatures start to get higher, and with dew points lingering around the mid-seventies, our expected temperatures today in the low-nineties are going to be much more unbearable than usual. This has caused the National Weather Service to issue a Heat Advisory (Valid from 1200 to 2000 Local), since heat index values up to 102 degrees are to be expected for the region, then a cold front will make its way through, causing some spotty thunderstorms to be possible for this evening. The severe risk for today is well to our north, but it is possible we see a few of these storms break the threshold for severe wind gusts. Because of this, the SPC has issued a Marginal Risk for our region today.

Following today, a high pressure dome will begin to move over us once again and set us into a very summer-like pattern of clear skies, but also extreme warming and cooling in the sunset and sunrise hours. Fog will likely be an issue every morning, but there is nothing to say that we will have any extremely dense fog, especially once we get through tomorrow morning, where we will still have very high dew points. This moisture will as well cause a threat for some storms tomorrow, although these are expected to be less potent than the threat today, and will likely not result in any sort of widespread severe weather.
