Today, a strong upper–level low is going to keep skies cloudy, this is accompanied by a troughing pattern, which brought some cold, Canadian air in for Homecoming this weekend, and will result in a somewhat bleak day today. Intermittent rain showers are possible both through this morning, and going into the late afternoon/early evening hours. Tonight, temperatures will plummet into the thirties, but some lingering cloud cover could save us from a night of frost, keeping temperatures above the freezing threshold.

Following today, we‘re expecting a weak ridging pattern for us, this will be accompanied by some Southwesterly flow, which will bring us some warmer air. Expect a weak surface high to build and temperatures to increase slightly, especially with limited cloud cover due to the high pressure. Tomorrow night, though, having minimal cloud cover could be a recipe for temperatures to get below freezing. If you have any plants outside, I‘d be on the lookout to cover them up tomorrow night! Don‘t get too used to cloudless skies, either! As it looks like SE Ohio will be in the crosshairs of another surface low, with the warm front expected on Thursday.
