After a very pleasant weekend, today is expected to kick off a summer-like pattern of hot and humid conditions that will likely last through much of this week. An upper-level ridge is expected to build back across the eastern part of the country throughout the week, leading to this surge in hot and humid air and leading to high pressure again being in control for the most part. A frontal boundary will stall to the north of the region this afternoon, leading to showers and storms staying mostly confined to north of Interstate 70, although a stray shower or storm may try to drift into Southeast Ohio this evening. With high pressure from the Carolinas and Virginia expected to remain strong for the next several days, the frontal boundary is expected to remain stalled to the north, and when it does drift south by the end of the week, precipitation chances will remain minimal for Southeast Ohio. Thus, the next four days or so will be characterized by mainly clear skies, temperatures in the 80s up to 90 for highs and the 60s for lows, and increasing humidity, until the frontal boundary slips south of the region and provides some relief for Friday.
