High pressure is still in the area, providing sunny clear skies for most of Sunday. A northerly low-pressure system will extend south, providing clouds and a chance of showers and thunderstorms mainly before 9 pm. The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather statement saying that strong to severe thunderstorms are possible this evening. The most cause for concern are strong winds, hail, and heavy rain.

The low-pressure system will bring a cold front, cooling daytime high temperatures for the new week. High pressure will be in place for most of next week providing sunny skies.
