Forecast Discussion

After some frost this morning due to a rapid cooldown, we’re going to start trending in the other direction. A slow-moving warm front is going to be making its way over the region soon, and will provide us with some rapid heating to supply our days with summer-like temperatures once again. Once the freeze warning expires at 9am this morning, expect temperatures to climb quickly up to 75 degrees, then by Thursday temperatures could encroach 90 degrees!

Following our warm day on Thursday, clouds will begin to roll in during the nighttime hours heading into Friday, this is due to the cold front associated with this slow-moving cut-off low pressure system. By Friday afternoon, expect some showers and a cooldown to commence for us here in Athens, as well as a persistent chance of rain through the weekend. This cooldown will be steep, and Sunday night is expected to look similar to tonight, where we could even see another freeze warning.
