Forecast Discussion

Tonight, a weak storm system will move into the region, which will provide some rainfall for us, but once it passes, we’ll still be getting some smoke from the Canadian wildfires blown down our way and’ll lead to a rather hazy night. An upper-level ridge and surface high are going to keep the skies clear past tomorrow, though, and along with the clearer skies normally associated with such a pattern we’ll see temperatures begin to ramp up into the upper eighties and low nineties! Daybreak tomorrow is also going to be when we’re expected to finally be free of this smoke for the time being!

Following tomorrow, we’re going to start to see a much more active weather pattern, with plenty of rain, potential thunderstorms, but still hot and muggy temperatures for the region, due to lots of Gulf moisture making its way up here. Be mindful of the potential risk for excessive rainfall over the weekend and ensure to stay tuned to the National Weather Service in Charleston for updates regarding these systems.
