Forecast Discussion

After the remnants of Ida passed through the region, a much welcome pattern change has begun to take hold over the region. The hot and humid weather that persisted over the past several weeks has been ushered out by a cold frontal boundary which has pushed to the south, allowing much cooler, calmer, and less humid weather to sweep in. This pleasant pattern will remain for the foreseeable future, thanks to a broad upper-level trough and an area of high pressure centered over the Great Lakes. The next chance for precipitation will hold off until Saturday as a weak disturbance moves through, but otherwise mostly sunny skies will prevail.
