Forecast Discussion

At this moment, we have a cold front stuck in northern Ohio Valley region right now, but out ahead of this front winds are out of southerly direction in association with high pressure over southeast U.S. which is bringing in warm and slightly humid weather for Athens. The cold front will gradually move southward during the day tomorrow and eventually move over our area by late evening hours tomorrow. Look for temperatures to be much cooler on Friday as high pressure settles in. By weekend, the high pressure moves eastward and look for upper level trough to move into our area. Out ahead of this trough, we have a threat of showers and thunderstorms during weekend. Expect things to cool down and dry out by Monday in Athens.
