Pleasant and dry conditions will stick around today as high-pressure lingers, but that high-pressure will move off to the east as an approaching midlatitude cyclone moves northeast from the Central Plains to over the Great Lakes. Upper-level forcing from a cut-off low accompanied with a shortwave trough is aiding in vertical ascent as it slowly progresses eastward into the Ohio Valley. Located in the warm sector as a warm front lifts Sunday morning, warm, moist southerly flow will promote moisture transport to the north. At this time, rain can be heavy at times with much needed rainfall of up to one inch possible. With dewpoints near 60 degrees, a rumble of thunder or two cannot be ruled out. Rain chances will continue through Sunday night as a cold front moves through the area.

Once the cold front moves through, high-pressure will settle in behind the front as skies begin to clear. Highs will remain in the mid-60s for Monday, but drop to the upper-50s for Tuesday once drier conditions settle in accompanied with an upper-level ridge. However, another low-pressure system will move east through Wednesday bringing another round of rain chances Wednesday evening once another cold front moves through that night.
