Forecast Discussion

A beautiful day is in store for Labor Day weekend and the Bobcats’ first home game of the year! A strong and persistent high-pressure system at the surface will be pumping warm air into the region, so expect things in the next couple of days to get a little bit hot. Additionally, moisture coming up from the south on the west side of this high pressure will be pushed into our region this weekend, so to go along with these hotter temperatures, things will feel somewhat sticky and uncomfortable outside.

Towards the middle of next week, this high-pressure system is anticipated to start moving eastward out of the region as an incoming trough will push it out. With this trough, a low-pressure system will form and move over the Great Lakes. This system is expected to bring us what seems to be a weaker cold front at this time, towards the later part of the week. Increasing chances for precipitation are expected with this system, so stay tuned to later forecasts when short-range model guidance paints a better picture of what to expect!
