A calm night is expected tonight, but as a shortwave trough pushes closer to our region, clouds are expected to roll in tonight and tomorrow. This trough is bringing a surface low-pressure system to our north, and its associated cold front will sweep through our region sometime on Thursday. Pre-frontal showers are expected tomorrow, and the SPC has issued a Marginal Risk due to the risk of damaging wind gusts from some thunderstorms, mainly Wednesday night into Thursday as this front pushes closer to our region.

Thankfully, this cold front is going to bring a NICE relief from these uncomfortable temperatures we have had lately. Temperatures will dip down into the mid-70s by the end of the week and weekend, and this will hopefully persist through the early part and perhaps into the middle of next week as well. It will finally feel more like fall and how September should feel for the time being! This cool-down does come with the chance of showers and possibly some thunderstorms on Friday and Saturday though, so plan accordingly if you are going to be outside!
