Forecast Discussion

After temperatures fall to around 70 degrees tonight, they will soar to the mid-90s tomorrow afternoon because of high pressure over the area, which will also bring lots of sunshine. In addition, the dew point will be in the low-70s, making it feel very muggy outside. Due to this combination of heat and humidity tomorrow, the National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Athens County and adjacent counties from 11 am to 8 pm. After tomorrow, temperatures remain around 90 degrees to the low-90s for Friday into the weekend, but there will be a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms each day as a stationary front parks itself overhead.
