Forecast Discussion
There is currently a high pressure ridge dominating the eastern portion of the US. This Friday a weak low is expected to emerge from the Rocky Mountains and begin rapidly pulling warm moist air from the Gulf of Mexico into the great plains and upper Midwest. This system could create the conditions for a possible severe weather outbreak in eastern Kansas and the surrounding area. On Friday this system will pull warmer moist air into the Ohio valley throughout the day before rain with a chance of evening to overnight storms. This system will be followed by a brief cold front before we enter the warm sector of a system north of lake superior on Monday returning us to warmer temperatures.
