Forecast Discussion

Upper level ridging and surface high pressure have begun to build into the area, providing sunny skies and mild temperatures for today and into much of the weekend, in time for Ohio University’s commencement ceremonies! However, this dry weather will only be short term, as several shortwave disturbances are expected move through the ridging beginning Sunday. These chances for showers and thunderstorms will continue into next week as a developing Colorado low is anticipated to trek eastward across the country and send a cold front through sometime Tuesday. Despite cooler air with the front, temperatures will still remain warm thanks to the ridging pattern still in place.
